Southern California born and raised

Scott Busby is a Southern California native who grew up in the kind of environment where sports opinions are treated like facts and family dinners can turn into a roast with seating charts.

He played baseball in high school, grew up golfing with his brothers and dad, and learned early that the best comedy usually starts with something everyone in the room already knows is true.

Golf course fluent

Scott grew up around golf, tournament weekends, and the unwritten rules of outing culture. His dad was a founding member at Mission Viejo Country Club, so he has been around charity tournaments, corporate outings, and the specific language of guys negotiating mulligans since long before Hire A Heckler existed.

That background matters on event day. He knows how to work a tee box, read a foursome, and keep the jokes sharp without making the round feel awkward for the people actually signing the checks.

Corporate-world survivor

Before turning his attention fully toward live event comedy, Scott worked in tech and corporate environments. That experience shows up in how he handles executives, company outings, mixed crowds, and events where the humor needs to land without torpedoing anyone’s Q4.

He has been around corporate golf outings, charity tournaments, and sports trash talk long enough to know the difference between a fun roast and a HR incident waiting to happen.

Good-natured damage only

Scott’s style is fast, sharp, and good-hearted. The goal is never cruelty for its own sake. It is confident crowd work, custom-written material, and jokes that make the room feel like something actually happened at the event.

Think less open-mic chaos and more professionally supervised verbal damage with a smile.
